Logan Elm State Memorial Park was established in 1912 in memory of Chief Logan; first of the Cayuga Tribe and later of the Mingo Tribe, is said to have delivered an eloquent speech, called Logan’s Lament, on relations between American Indians and early Ohio settlers in 1774. The speech was delivered in this spot in the area known then as the Pickaway Plains under a massive elm tree that died in 1964. A plaque has been set to marks its former location.


The park has a number of historical monuments and plaques related to that time and history and can be seen as you walk through the park. This park has one shelter and numerous picnic tables for picnics and enjoyment. There are no restrooms.


Hours of enjoyment are from dawn till dusk.
