In 2021 the Village constructed a 20,000 SQ FT fenced play area next to our community gardens to provide a safe area for our K9 friends to run, play, burn energy and just do dog stuff. At the time of construction funding prohibited us from adding many attractions to the area, however we would entertain suggestions for improvement. We recently expanded and resurfaced the parking area to increase parking capacity to the bark park and community gardens.

A true vacation destination, Deer Creek offers a balance of modern and rustic facilities to satisfy every visitor. Set amidst rich farming country, the park’s well-appointed resort, marina, large campground, and 18-hole golf course facilities blend perfectly with outdoor activities such as boating, fishing, camping, and hiking. The park also boasts a presidential connection with its historical Harding Cabin. In summer, Deer Creek offers nature programming, and in winter, snowmobiling and ice fishing.

You can access Deer Creek River for paddling at the parking lot south of the spillway.

Garden City Park is surrounded on all sides by houses and is accessible by 2 sidewalks leading into the park. The park includes an open space and a playground. It is not a well-known city park. The residents in the area are the main group that utilizes this small, less than 1 acre park. At one time there was a soccer group that used the area and there is still a soccer goal in the park.

Our crown jewel of Village Park space is our 10-acre Marvin Webster Memorial Park inquired in 1977 for future park space and water tower. Currently offering a nearly ½ mile lighted paved multi use path, full size versa court Basketball court, full size tennis court, (seeking bids to add Pickleball overlay) a very well equipped mulched playground towards preteens, a 864 SQ FT open shelter house, a 2300 SQ FT closed shelter house with full commercial kitchen available for rentals, sand volleyball court, as well as a beautifully manicured lawn to simply enjoy nature and relax.

In 2020 the village purchased 2 lots in our Millport area and demolished 2 blighted homes with intent to establish a small park for children in the area. The village added age appropriate attractions for the younger children with rubber mulch and tables for children and parents. The following year we erected a pavilion also having picnic tables for public use.
