We are excited to launch the Pickaway County Park District’s “Live Here. Work Here. Play Here.” Photo Contest! This is your chance to showcase your photography skills while celebrating the beauty and vibrancy of Pickaway County. Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or just enjoy capturing moments with your camera, we invite you to participate in this exciting contest.
Photo Subject Categories
- Wildlife of Pickaway County: Capture the diverse and fascinating wildlife that calls Pickaway County home.
- Beautiful Scenery of Pickaway County: Show us the stunning landscapes and natural beauty of our county.
- People Enjoying PCPD Parks or Trails: Snap photos of people having a great time in our parks and on our trails.
- Picturesque Pickaway County Park District Park or Trail: Highlight the scenic beauty of the parks and trails managed by the Pickaway County Park District.
Note: Photographs in the last two categories must be taken at one of the Park District’s owned or managed facilities, including Canal Park, Metzger Preserve, Roundtown Trail, Pickaway Trail, Park District Headquarters, or Logan Elm State Memorial Park.
Submission Guidelines
- Deadline: Submit your photos by Wednesday, April 30th, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
- Eligibility: Photos must be taken within the past four years in Pickaway County.
- Format: Submit one digital photo per category through our website: www.pickawaycountyparks.org/photo-contest. Photos should be in JPEG format, with a minimum resolution of 1536 x 1024 pixels and a maximum file size of 20MB.
Upon submission, you will receive an automatic email acknowledgement confirming your entry.
Exhibition and Reception
The top 25 photographs will be selected for exhibition at the Pickaway County Park District Headquarters from Monday, May 26th, 2025, through Saturday, May 31st, 2025. Join us for a reception on Saturday, May 31st, from 10 AM to 12 PM, where we’ll celebrate the winners and enjoy refreshments.
Photographers selected for the main exhibition will be notified by Friday, May 9th, 2025, and must confirm their participation by May 15th, 2025.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third place photographs in each category. Winners will be announced at the gallery reception on May 31st. Additionally, all submitted photos will be displayed in our online digital gallery, which will go live on May 16th, 2025.
Winning photographs will also be showcased at local businesses throughout June 2025. Be sure to pick up your winning photos between July 1st and 11th, 2025 at the Park District Office.
